I saw an ad online for a 98 Volvo V-70 Cross Country, Wagon. The ad states it may need a turbo. When I emailed them about this they said the car has no pick up. What does that mean and will it cost a lot in repairs?
What happens when the turbo quits is the impellers partially block both the intake and exhaust so power is VERY limited even though the car may seem to run fine otherwise.

Depending on the price it may still be a good deal but be aware that a turbo replacement is not cheap and could easily run several thousand dollars at a shop or dealership. We're also looking at a car that is pushing 11 years old.

The other thing to consider is the turbo failed for a reason, and that's usually lack of proper maintenance, although not always.
