Full Version: 1984 300DTurbo brake booster

When I got my car serviced the mechanic said there was fluid in the brake booster. Why would there be fluid in the brake booster? What would be a likely case of this and what might need to be fixed / replaced.

If it's a vacuum brake booster the fluid is likely brake fluid, which means the master cylinder is leaking.

If it's a hydro-boost unit there's a possibility that it's PS fluid leaking externally.

Have you been adding anything lately? Did the mechanic add anything?
