Not totally familiar with this situation so I did some scouting around for you and found it's a common enough issue but the dealer may tell you otherwise. Another posts suggests part of the fix may require replacing the upper plenum as an assembly but also mentions it's no longer available as a service part ($300 and change?) and must be purchased as an assembly with the complete manifold, MAF, and other goodies for something near $2,000. They didn't say if that included labor. (I suspect it may)

At any rate, this is a quote from what I found....

DTC P1004 - short runner valve control performance.
Possible causes:

- Fused ASD(auto shutdown) relay output open
- SRV(short runner valve) control cirtcuit short to battery voltage
- SRV control circuit short to ground
- SRV control circuit open
- Faulty SRV solenoid
- Faulty PCM

There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) out on this problem. The repair is to replace the SRV solenoid and upper intake manifold, as well as reprogram the PCM.
