Starting problems
I have a 1998 Diamante 3.5 engine with 142000 on it. The car had been sitting idle for about a year. Recently, I tried to start it but I don't even get a click from the starter. I replaced the battery with a new one and replaced the batt. cable clamps. The radio and lights work when the key is in the start position. I've tried to jump the car by connecting the two starter terminals with a screwdriver and still nothing. I've tried tapping the starter with a hammer and still nothing. Once I return the key to the run position after attempting to start I hear a click from the relay switch/fuse box that is located in the engine compartment on the passenger side. I doo get a good spark down at the starter solinoid. I would like to know what my next steps could be. I don't want to buy a bunch of parts thant I don't really need. Any help would be greatfull.
