decided to take it to a metal yard and try to get some money back out of it. They want the mercury switches out. any ideas where they are located and should I do anything else to it before taking it there? beside taking out the battery and catalytic converter to sell.

Cat converter might be worth $10 in scrap. Is that worth your time? More to your advantage would be to get the fuel out. (at today's prices)
Battery may be usefull elsewhere if it's good. It's a common size. Mercury switches? They pretty much went out in the 60's and were only used for the light in the trunk or under the hood. I doubt you will find one in that vintage. |
