AC does not cool at all

AC does not cool at all
I have a 1998 528I that has some issue with A/C. First it does not blow cold air with the system set for A/c, second the auxiliary cooling fan never comes on. So far I have replaced the auxiliary cooling fan with a new one, checked the voltage at the fan connector and found 12 VDC, checked the pressure of 134a on suction(low) side found about 35 psi(normal charge), the compressor is running, the vent inside is blowing normal air (not cold at all), high side refrigerant line is getting hot(as normal operation) when the a/c is on. I dont know what else to do or check. My primary concern is to get the auxiliary cooling fan running! I need help to figure this thing out! Your input is really appreciated.

THanks

OK, if you have 12 volts at the fan and it stilll doesn't run then you need to take a look at the ground side of things.

You can also look at this link to see if anything rings a bell. Within this link there's another link to a BMW site explaining problems with AC controls.

I think you need to clean out the filters at first. Just check the gaskets that are ok or not because it can not keep the air circulating within the space. I also suggest you to check the AC gril form the front of the car. The better option is to contact the best Car AC mechanic.

This thread is 2 years old so probably resolved by now even though the owner didn't post anything saying as much.

BTW, check the dates on the top left of each post and that will give you a clue as to being worth a reply.

RE: AC does not cool at all
few causes of low cooling efficiency or no cooling at all at idle are:

-Lack of air flow across the condenser. Make sure the electric cooling fan motor near the condenser is coming on, or in models that are equipped with a fan blade make sure this fan is turning and is turning very fast.

-Low Freon levels. Freon level and pressure should be checked by your certified air conditioning mechanic.

-Overheating. If the engine is running hot or overheating, it can have a noticeable negative affect on the air conditioning system. Some cars have two electric cooling fans, one for the air conditioning condenser and the other for the radiator. Make sure they are both working properly. Usually at idle on a hot day with the AC on both fans will be on.

I think first you have to clean the filter. Just keep the air circulating within the space because it can not determine whether or not to confirm the gasket. I also exchange your gril forming the front of the vehicle, we recommend that. A better option to exchange the best is to contact an auto mechanic.
