RE: 1970 mb engine
Have you figured out if it's the crank / pistons that are stuck or is it the cam? IOW, did it run out of oil or has it just been sitting for years? If it ran out of oil at some point you're stuck with a full dissambly.

An old trick for stuck pistons is a mix of kero and ATF (Marvel will also work) poured into the cylinders and leave the plugs out.

Fit a breaker bar to the front crank nut and apply your floor jack with enough pressure to raise the front end (don't break the bolt) and wait.

Might take a few hours, days, weeks, but it may eventually move. Check the height of the bumper with a tape measure daily and see if anything happens.

Once it moves you need to work it back and forth till you can get a full turn. That might also take some time.

BTW, if it was a bad head gasket that cause this grief you will need to remove the head anyway. The old antifreeze is like glue after a few years.

RE: 1970 mb engine
Air pressure wont do much beyond blow the mixture around. It's really the time involved that allows the juices to wick through everything slowly and hopefully disolve any gum, varnish, sludge, etc.

It took 30 years to get that way so don't rush the process. It may take a few weeks to work.

If it doesn't move in a few weeks all you have lost is a few weeks where you could be doing something else anyway. (electrical or interior work?)
