2002 mercury sable problem!
Okay so can the master fuse between the battery and the alternator cause the car not to keep the battery charged and the can not to get enough voltage??

RE: 2002 mercury sable problem!
For me, I would have an easier time helping you if you gave me information on the vehicle and the problem that you’re having. Engine size? Mileage? And I’m guessing that the battery is going dead? From there we could look at all of the possibilities of what is causing the problem.

Is the Check Engine Light, Battery Light, or Alt. Light coming on? Have you checked the alternator to see if it is charging? How old is the battery? Are the battery terminals clean? Is the alternator belt on and properly tensioned? Is something staying on and draining the battery? (Dome light, Glove box light.)

I ask these questions because I’m not sure if there even is a fuse on that circuit. If there is; and it’s blown, then it certainly would stop the battery from charging. Throw some more information our way and we’ll see if we can figure this out.

Thanks for using the forum,
Garner

RE: 2002 mercury sable problem!
Ok so this was all because when I put the battery in backwards. The battery and alternator tested fine but the car would not continue to run without a battery charger. The problem was the megafuse between the battery and alternator on the side of the main fuse box inside under the hood. It was shot and the car wouldn't continue to run. Also Garner this is the same car that I had posted about before, my 2002 mercury sable with the 3.0 vin u.
