rough idle
I have a 2000 STS, V-8 4.6L, 97,000 miles. I replaced my intake gaskets along with the throttle body gasket and throttle body to intake adapter with new gaskets. Now the car idles rough. I hear a hiss on the throttle body. When I spray the throttle gasket and adapter, it immediately changes pitch. I have a vacuum leak around those two parts against the aluminum block. I tightened the 3 bolts to 89 and 106 in/lbs and still leaked. I torqued the bolts down tighter and it still leaks. I'm about as tight as I dare go without cracking the body. Any remedies? At the end of my rope. Thank you.

RE: rough idle
Try taking it all apart again and either add more gasket sealer to the new parts or add sealer to the parts. I would take it apart add the gasket sealer to the throttle body and put the gasket on the throttle body. Then let the sealant dry and then let the sealant on the other end set up some and then refasten the throttle body to the motor.

RE: rough idle
I think Sandman is on the right track but before you just add more silicone sealer I'd be looking real close for something causing a gap, such as an old piece of gasket, a piece of the wiring harness, or even a stray washer that snuck in somewhere.

Before you disassemble try this trick. Using a length of vacuum hose hold one end up to your ear and use the other end to work into the smaller spaces so you can really pin point where the leak is. You'd be amazed at how well this can help you hear over the engine noise. Take note of the area in question THEN take it apart to see what's going on.

Let us know how you make out as it may help someone else reading here.
