P2402 check engine light 2012 Jetta 2.5 SE
Have a check engine light on a 2012 VW Jetta 2.5 SE. code is P2402. Have already replaced the gas cap, N80 valve and leak detection pump. Is there a reset that needs to be done to clear the check engine light? or is there other possible causes for the P2402 error. Thanks

RE: P2402 check engine light 2012 Jetta 2.5 SE
That code is for evaporative emissions, which could be a variety of things, including any item that allows the fuel system to not be sealed. (an air leak, not a fuel leak) It seems that most of the time this code in particular is about the system self-check, which is a built in monitor.

Yes, you need to reset the light via a scanner with that function, then see if the repairs you did were effective in the long run.

BTW, reading the main cause of that N80 valve going bad is topping off the fuel tank. It seems that raw fuel gets in there and gums up the works.
