Tail light removal
2015 Subaru Forester blew a tail light brake bulb. I removed the two screws that hold the IMPOSSIBLE to grip lens but even using rubber kitchen gloves I CAN NOT REMOVE
Subie owner neighbor says the lens NOTORIOUSLY difficult to remove.
Afraid I'll break it if I try any harder!

Anybody know the TRICK on getting this baby off? Greatly appreciate any info!

RE: Tail light removal
OK Joe, I have never done this job before so I looked for information on it. I found this video.

It would appear that there are a couple of plastic pins pressed into plastic sockets. I think that I would see if there was somewhere that I could slip something in between the body of the car and the tail light housing to help pry it loose. Maybe borrow one of the wife's plastic pancake flippers or something thin and non-marring to the paint. Sometimes a thin screwdriver wrapped in a rag will work.

Please let us know how you make out. May-be you can offer some pointers to help the next person?

RE: Tail light removal
As a side note, I actually have one of these and the best advice I can give is to do it someplace warm so the plastic clips are more pliable. For reassembly, a little silicone paste goes a long way. Be aware than some silicone sprays have a solvent in the liquid carrier (the solution) and may damage plastic. Do NOT pry on the edge where the bolts go because you may crack that part off. If you have to pry, get well under the edge so the force is away from that flange.
