2004 Chev Cargo van Ignition switch
Can anyone give me some help on replacing switch.Do i need any special tools? Thanks in advance . ofert

Are you replace the key/lock cyl part? Or the electical part of the ignition switch? Why are you replacing it? There is a TSB for Ignition Key and/or Ignition Lock Cylinder Does Not Turn. I can post info if I know the problem.

TECHNICAL

Subject:
Ignition Key and/or Ignition Lock Cylinder Does Not Turn (Replace Ignition Key)

Models:
2003-2006 Chevrolet Express
2003-2006 GMC Savana

Condition

Some customers may comment that the ignition key and/or the ignition lock cylinder may not turn.

Cause

Bent or twisted ignition keys may cause ignition lock cylinders not to turn.

Correction

Do NOT replace ignition switch.

Replace the ignition key. Obtain blank key and cut new key for vehicle.

If the ignition lock cylinder will not turn after the key has been replaced, replace the ignition lock cylinder.
