blower motor out 03 dakota
Year: 2003
Model: Dakota
Engine Size: 4.6L v8
Auto/Manual: Auto
Mileage: 120XXX

i have a 2003 dodge dakota 4x4 4.6L v8. I turn the blower switch on and nothing happens. None of the speeds work, and swapped out fuses no help. is there anything else besides the switch itself?

RE: blower motor out 03 dakota
The motor itself could be bad but before jumping to conclusions I would check for power at the motor and double check for a good ground.

RE: blower motor out 03 dakota
If I remember correctly, the ground is provided by the speed selector and it goes through a resistor in the heater box under the dash. Unlike the GM that leaves you with high speed, the Dodge seems to burn out completely. I have seen this twice just this winter. One in a truck and the other in a car. You will need to know how many speeds you are supposed to have to get the right part.

I would suggest checking things out as Rupe said before just buying a part.

Please let us know what you find.
