Sad Hyundai wheel noise
Question for the PROS!!! can you guys help? I bought a Hyundai 2002 Elantra GLS, about 6 Mos. ago, the car squeels everytime I turn to the left, the noise seems to come from the tire, rim or somewhere around that area, no noise if I turn to the right, it is only when I turn the steering wheel to the left, when I'm trying to park. What would that be? will it cost me a lot to repair?, for any help I'll thank ya!!!!

RE: Hyundai wheel noise
Will it squeal sitting still and turning left, or does the car have to be moving?

RE: Hyundai wheel noise
It sounds like a slipping p/s belt or bad pump. Have you check the fluid level?

RE: Hyundai wheel noise
Check and make sure that your power steering fluid is topped off. Could possibly problems with your power steering pump. Mine does the same and the fluid is full. I just keep an eye/ear on it. If it continues to get worse than it could be the pump going out. If the fluid is allowed to get too low, it could possibly get air in it affecting both the "feel" of the steering and making a noise.

RE: Hyundai wheel noise
If none of the above pan out try jacking the car up and checking for a worn wheel bearing on the right front. Grab the tire top and bottom and wiggle it. Any play is a worn bearing.

Also check the brake pads as they may be down to the sensor causing a squeeling sound.

RE: Hyundai wheel noise
The best thing for you to do is to bring your car to an auto repair shop and let them analyze your car to find out what really is causing the squeaking sound.
