How does the repo man get a key to your car?

In many cases they have access to the file from the dealer or the finance company with the original key code. In other cases they tow the car to another location where someone can spend time working on it.

BTW, my brother in-law was a repo man for many years. He figures that unless someone is actually living inside the car it can be recovered within 48 hours after it's located.
