I Need to replace a 4.6 motor,And would like to know if any 4.6 motor with the same 6 or 8 bolt will fit.Thanks Walltire

Good question to pose at the local salvage yard as they are probaby the only people who use commercially available interchange manuals.

The interchange manual (probably on CD for computers these days) will tell you things the dealer just can't. IOW, this year will fit if you change the accessory bracket or another year will fit if you use a certain engine mount, 4WD if you swap the oil pan, etc. The dealer can only go by what the factory recommends.

I suspect many will fit if you are willing to swap all of the external parts, including the oil pan and oil pump screen, which is usually different in 4WD vehicles.
