Why does my car only stutters, putters, and stalls in heavy rain and after a car wash at car wash place?

RE: Acura 1997
Moisture is a common problem with aging ignition parts, plug wires in particular. The insulation breaks down over the years and the high voltage "leaks" to the dirt that accumulates on everything, which causes rough running, stalling, etc.

The best cure is a full tune up with ALL new ignition parts. Don't forget the filters, including the gas filter. If it's really that bad you may even see a few MPG gain in your fuel economy afterward.

Yes, I know it's probably going to be expensive but in the long run you will save that much in fuel within a year's time. IOW, pay me now or pay me later! The full tune will likely last several years of average driving so it's a good investment.

I'd check the spark plug wires on this one to see if there's one arching out when it gets wet.
