'97 Chevy fuel pump repair/bed to fame shematic
I am once again replacing fuel pump in "97 Z-71, I replaced it two years ago by dropping the tank. This time I am debating whether to raise the bed or cut a "door" above the access to the tank.

Suggestions or comments?

We lift the bed in our shop. It is fairly easy if you have a buddy or two to help. To raise the bed, just disconnect the wiring at the rear, unbolt the bed, remove the filler neck and slide the bed back about 2 feet and it is in front of you. The only detriment to cutting a door in the bed, is trying to get it to be sealed back up and looking good. Good luck.

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds.

Thank you, way2old, I'm already halfway there. Now that I know I made a wise choise I won't have second thoughts and will finish! My only obstacles were the fact a friend had my Torx set (for the filler neck disconnect) and I had to remove some bolts from the trailer hitch to fit a socket extention. Once again, I appreciate your help.

P.S. Thanks for not teasing about the subject line typos, my wife has laughed enough.
