2006 Chevy Equinox
My 2006 Chevy equinox heater blower works, but I am not getting any heat. It only blows cold air.

RE: 2006 Chevy Equinox
The two most common problems with a heater are low coolant level causing an air pocket, which means lack of circulating hot water (coolant) AND a vacuum leak to the controls.

Hint: if there's a vac leak you will likely only have air blowing out on the defroster no matter where you set the coltrols and not from the other vents at all.

That said, you will need to open the radiator cap while the engine is cold to check the level. It should be right to the brim. The other tank on the side (usually a white plastic) should be around half full or to the line designated as "full cold" if it has one. If they are not up to snuff then you need to fill them with the proper coolant mixture of the right color. It will either be pink or green depending on the type. (most likely pink in your case)

OK, filling the system will probably solve your problem for the moment and get you some heat BUT you will need to keep an eye on this over a few days / weeks to see if it leaks out again and where it leaks from. Look for spots on the ground wherever you park. That will be a clue to exactly where it's leaking and what needs repairing for the long haul. If you have access to someone with a pressure tester that can save you the waiting time because they can pump it up and possibly find any leaks within a few minutes.

Let us know what you find and we can chat more.
