I have a 1992 toyota camry automatic, I have it recent tune-up the car,i disconnected some electric connectors & put back afterward, the problem is that, when i start the car the airbag warning light turn on. What could be the problem & how do you fix it? It was not in an accident & it did not deploy the airbag.Sad

RE: airbag warning light
My first suspect would be that you missed hooking up a wire. Second, you hooked them all up but one isn't making a good connection. And lastly would be a coincidence that something else went wrong just at that time. In that case I would suspect the clock spring, under the steering wheel.

You may be able to narrow things down with a high end scanner. Scan all systems, Record all code NUMBERS, post those numbers here for review, & have the computer cleared.

Please let us know what you find.

Thanks for using the forum,
Garner

RE: airbag warning light
Hint....

Most all cars of the last 20 years used yellow connectors or yellow wires for the air bag system. Disconnect the battery and go around looking for them and check ALL connections. Many cars have plugs under the seats to detect a passenger. IOW, nobody in the seat and no air bag release in an accident. Spilled coffee or water on the floor can foul these plugs. Same goes for leaking coolant / water from the AC / heater. There are plugs under the dash and some of thoose can be kicked by big feet.

When all done checking reconnect the battery and see if the light went off. If not then there's still a malfunction and you will need to do the scan Garner suggested. The air bag system in an older car probaby will not store a code so if you fix the connection the light will go off. (if that's what the problem is)

i think, you can use obd2 airbag reset tools to solve it.
because airbag reset is used exclusively to reprogram the service intervals.Shy
