RE: 1999 jeep problems cv boots
If the boots have been broken for any length of time (more than a few days in most cases) then the inner workings have been exposed to the elements and have probably started to wear more than you want to hear. Gravel, sand, water, etc is what I'm talking about and it's just a matter of time before a total failure even if you do change the boots.

Best bet is to purchase complete replacement axels, which are cheaper than you may imagine these days. Putting them is another matter and will probably take a couple of hours per side if you have the right tools and lots of ambition.

If you are really set on changing ONLY the CV boots you still have to take everything apart but then you still have more work to do. Your call here.

Back to my original statement..... complete axels in the aftermarket are probably cheaper than buying those CV boots at the dealer.
