Car won't start
My car wouldn't start after I didn't start it for a week and it snowed. It also had about a half a tank of gas in it. Do I need a new battery? Or what is wrong with my car?

RE: Car won't start
please give more information on your car as to the make model year motor size and transmission if you know that so that it will give the techs better information to help solve your problems. The first thing that i would do is get a can of starting fluid and spray it into the carb or throttle body if the vehicle runs for a minute or two then you most likely have a bad fuel pump. By the way if it turns out to be the fuel pump then i strongly recommend that you also change the fuel filter. You may also try recharging the battery because with numerous attempts of starting the car you may have drained the battery

RE: Car won't start
Also, "wouldn't start" is rather generic. We need to know if it cranks over but fails to fire or is it dead as a door nail. Do the lights come on and will they stay on while attempting to crank? Do you hear any noise at all when you turn the key?

All of these hints help us help you!

BTW, if I had a nickle for every time someone said it will not start and they found it was not in park / neutral / clutch not pushed down, I would be well off. Just covering the basics here. It doesn't hurt.
