95 Nissan Altima Transmission
I have a 1995 Nissan Altima with a 5 speed manual transmission #1N4DLO1DOXC119594
I have an associate in the process of putting it back together but he has springs that he is not sure of where they belong. The result is we are in need of a schematic of the transmission so he can finish putting it back together. Can anyone tell me where I can acquire such a thing?

Thank you

RE: 95 Nissan Altima Transmission
I spent quite a few years doing Nissan trany rebuilds and the only "internal" springs I can think of go behind the shift detents (balls or oval slugs) that are located under some external nut looking holders. Those balls (or slugs) ride on the shift rails so shouldn't be too hard to locate.

Also recalling there's another piece that looks like a needle from a bearing and if you find that floating around on the bench when done it means you could possibly wind up in two gears at once so everything locks up. It goes in a slot between the 1-2 rail and the 3-4 rail and it acts as an interlock so you absolutely have to be all the way out of one gear before going into the next. Yes, you neet to tear the trany down to get it in place if you forget it.

Back to the original question.... the only place to find a decent diagram is going to be a factory manual or perhaps the parts guy at the dealer can print you the blow up. You may also get lucky with a guy in a garage who has access to an AllData account. They would have something good to look at too.
