Relay control module cant determine correct one
Hello: I have a 94 mercury sable 3.0L with a bad Relay control module
(Block box above radiator that houses fuel pump/ eec relays etc)

Got one at the junk yard and the resisters and relays werent the same. ordered one online for my vehicle year and also not the same.

I looked up the ford part number with my vin and got 12b577 The issue is there are many of this same box that look identical from the outside. The one I got at the junkyard was part number F1DF-12B577-AA and it did not work. Many websites sell the AA or AB version for my vehicle as the correct part number.

The issue is that the one that was working in my car is E9DF-12B577-DB
They look identical but the inside components are completely different.

I can't find information anywhere that explains what version of this box is correct. and no parts stores have a new E9DF-12B577-DB neither do the junk yards. all I can find is used ones online from sellers that offer no guarantee the part even works

RE: Relay control module cant determine correct one
OK I figured it out.

Old working part E9DF-12B577-DB E9= made in 1989 DB= 4th design change with revision

Junkyard part F1DF-12B577-AA F1= made in 1991 AA= orginal design no revision

The new part didn't work and the old one did. Wondering if the junkyard part was bad. However after analyzing with a magnifying glass none of the welds were broken and all the relays were in good shape
