96 Buick Regal Ignition Problems
The car will not start. I've replaced the ckp sensor, ignition control module, spark plugs and spark plug wires. I also checked the coils and they are fine. The only thing I can think of now is that there might be a shorted wire from the control module to the sensor. I used a meter to check to see if the wires at the sensor harness and the control module were broken. There doesn't appear to be a break in the wires but checking the wires on both ends produces a clean signal on 1 wire but the other two wires both give a signal when I check either of them. One wire has a better signal than the other but I could be wrong but I don't think they should both register signal. It's like they are crossed between the control module and the ckp sensor. Any suggestions?

RE: 96 Buick Regal Ignition Problems
Hard to say from here without a full wiring diagram. Each wire should ring through clean by itself from one end to another but you must have everything disconnected at both ends to make sure there is not a high resistance or a short. A diagram would show if there's anything else tied into the circuit. (a tach perhaps?) Since the wire length is not all that long and the car is 15 years old you might want to just pull off the crumbling plastic loom material and follow each wire manually. Once you find the problem you can replace it with new split loom for a couple of bucks.

Let us know how you make out.
