Sad starting problem?
i have a 2000 honda odessey, how do you check ignition coil for spark?

If this is a "coil pack" style it will not be as easy as the older systems.

What I would do for someone with limited tools is lay the pack on top of the engine with the wires still connected and stick an old plug into it. Make sure to ground the plug with a jumper wire then have a helper crank it over.

The key here is the color of the spark. It must be blue and not yellow. If you are not sure then open the plug gap to about 1/4" so you can see it easier. If it will jump that gap and is blue then the coil is ok.
