2005 sable
2005 Mercury Sable, Indianapolis, IN northeast side, 40 degree weather

My car won't start, I hear a soft click but it won't fire up, it's been starting every so often then it won't. I got a chance to go to autozone today an have it tested, my battery, alternator and starter all tested good. Thinking It might be electrical?? Where should I go from here?

RE: 2005 sable
Try checking the starter solenoid to see if the power is going through. Open the hood and you will probably hear it clicking if you can get a friend to work the key while you move your head around.

Where would I find the starter solenoid? Is it located on the starter? Is there another way to test it because I don't have a meter? I just went out to mess around with it and it tried to start but I have been trying all day. I may have ran down the battery.

RE: 2005 sable
On a Ford product the starter solenoid is usually the first item along the large positive battery cable and mounted on the inside fender. You could do the necessary testing with something simple like a test light or jump across the two large terminals with jumper cables just to see if the starter and the battery are ok. MAKE SURE IT'S IN NEUTRAL!
