1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't start
I have a 96 Grand Cherokee was working fine. Wife drove it to work today, it sat for about 8 hrs. Now it won't turn over. Battery is fine and I tried jumping it. It still won't turn over??????

here is a quicky test. if all connections & fuses check ok , have helper turn key to start while you lightly rap the starter with a hammer .if it starts buy a starter.

Thanks for the help. I found out it has something to do with the shifter. I put the Jeep in neutral and it started right up???

That indicates either a neutral safety switch going bad or a switch that is a little out of adjustment.
