2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Problem

Exclamation 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Problem
2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L V6 2WD

Neither the a/c or the heater blow any air out of any vents at any speed. Started going out intermittently (cold air would be blowing and suddenly stop) and now has completely stopped blowing. The air was cold when it would work and I could bump the bottom of the glove box and it would work for a short time. Any ideas where to start?

RE: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Problem
If you do not hear the blower running while working the switch I would start with locating the blower itself then check for both power and ground at it's plug. It's behind the glove box so removing the door will be the best way to get to it. If you find no power then look at the blower resistor directly next to the blower. (5 or 6 wire plug just to the left) One or two screws should get that out and sometimes they are obviously toast once in hand. Both of these parts are available in the aftermarket these days.

Let us know how you make out.

RE: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee A/C Problem
I found the problem. When I removed the glove box and removed the bottom panel I found the broken piece laying on the insulation. I figured it controlled the flap that routes the air to the vents. I moved the flap by hand to a down position to collect the air from fan. I replaced the fan and the fan relay switch. It is blowing hard and cold but I haven't moved the directional setting. Does anyone know what this part is called? I still need to replace it. I've attached pictures. Thanks.

It's a "Blend Door Actuator." Here's a link to a "Jeep" forum that shows your problem and a lot of information. It says that it is a common problem for the gear to break.

Garner - Thank you so much buddy! Thanks to everyone! That is the exact part I thought I'd never be able to find. It even looks tougher than the original design. It doesn't say it fits my Jeep but I confirmed it through the post that GARNER shared. The part number is 68072190aa. I found it online here:

Mopar Parts

MSRP- $16.10
Online Price - $11.68
