Crankshaft Sensor Ring
1995 (diagram 1996) GMC Jimmy 4.3L 4WD

Would you know "How is the Crankshaft Sensor Reluctant Ring under the
Timing Cover held in place" so as not move around and chew up the Timing cover ?
I see woodruff key then a small space and a second woodruff key on
the crank which this ring slides onto , however , how does it stay in
one place and not move forward or backward ?

RE: Crankshaft Sensor Ring
When you tighten the crank pulley the whole stack is then secured against the first main bearing shoulder. The stack consists of the timing gear, the slotted sensor ring, an oil slinger, and the pulley hub. On some years there's a spacer too. The sensor ring has a slot in it to stay put on the key when all is snug.
