I have a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville automatic, I have a check engine light on, I diagonois the check engine light, the code read po300 - Random multiple misfire detected. What does this mean? Is it electrical issue or something else. I try to start the car. It start, but you have to warm up, until it will not shut off. When it shut off, there is a noise that the engine is still running until it cool off. How do you solve this problem or repair

RE: Car keeps shutting off
OK, I think that I need more information.
*What engine is in it? *When you say that it won’t shut off & there is a “sound” that the engine is still running, has anyone looked under the hood? *Is the engine actually running? *Is the starter stuck in and just turning the engine over? Random Multiple Misfire just means that the engine is missing on random cylinders. This can be caused by a lot of things, plugs, wires, coil, cap, rotor, weak fuel pump, dirty fuel filter, injectors... and so on. These should cause the engine to want to stall rather than stay running. So if the engine is actually running I am thinking that you have more than one problem. Get back to us with the answers to the questions & we’ll try to figure this out. Thanks for using the forum, Garner Interested in Mining? Look here: Coal Mining, PA |
