That's why we look first. The idea is you discover what's obviously broken then we think about what else is affected. There could be damage to the trans pan, oil pan, exhaust, etc, which could cause broken motor mounts, which can pull on a harness or crimp a fuel line.

The other point of view is none of the bottom side damage (if there is any) has anything to do with the running issue so we need to cover the basics of fuel, ignition, and both of those being at the right time, along with good compression.

BTW, there's also a possibility of debris going into the timing cover and throwing the cam belt off by a few teeth. Things like this are common on a car over 20 years old. If compression is low then this is a good place to start.
