1991 Dodge Caravan doesnt have electrical power
Hello, my name is jake. I have a 1991 Dodge Caravan 3.0L 3 spd with lockup converter. My problem is that I have hardly no electrical power. When I try to start it the "maintenance required" light illuminates but no other dash lights come on. When I turn the headlights on there is a buzzing sound coming from the dash where the headlight switch is located. As if a switch or relay or something is clicking on and off constantly creating the buzzing sound. The headlights never come on, the engine doesnt crank over.... nothing except the interior light just barely illuminates. I had even replaced the battery for one that I know is good so it's not the battery. Please help me, all coments will be much appreciated, thanks.

I would assume that you cleaned the battery terminals and cable ends when you installed the donor battery? If not, do that first. Also look at the cables themselves. If they look swelled up under the plastic coating there is probably corrosion build up causing that. You will either need to cut the coating away and clean the corrosion or replace the cable. From there you will want to look at the other ends of the cables. The positive wire should go to the starter & the ground will probably be bolted to the block. Make sure that those connections are clean and tight.

Some tips for safety is to wear eye protection while working around a battery. Un-hook the ground cable first and leave it unhooked until you finish working on the rest of the cable ends.

Please let us know if this fixes it or if you need more help.

Thanks for using the forum,
Garner

Garner, you hit the nail on the head. Also check ground from battery to body, if ground is loose or corroded it will not get good ground.
